Towering high above the valley, you feel peace like you are far away, yet you are only a few scenic minutes from Saint Helena & Calistoga - just 2 minutes to several nearby wineries & 7 to Silverado Trail on the valley floor. For those perfect California weather days & nights, the outdoor living areas including the main level covered deck & lower-level lounge areas are AMAZING places to gather, but when climate control is desired, the ability to gather everyone together at the same time inside the cozy great room while enjoying the view is the better option. The scenery is breathtaking & changes frequently. In the morning, the fog blankets the valley below while the sun shines brightly on the property and slowly warms the fog away. In the afternoon, the fog layer is gone & it's fun to take in the expansive views, spotting some wineries such as Castello di Amorosa, Sterling, Beringer, Krug, or other landmarks including the CIA-Culinary Institute of America campus, the Wine Train or even a helicopter on a tour. In the evening, the sunsets are perfectly viewable any time of the year & all are beautiful with their own colors & shadows shifting through the valley. At sunset, watch for the green flash & then stay outside to watch the changing colors of the sky as it slowly darkens, and the stars become brighter and brighter. At night, enjoy viewing the city lights of the valley or look upward towards the stars & moon where the stars appear brighter than the city lights! It's a great spot to use the telescope & really see & feel how the earth is positioned to the moon & the sun. By watching the location of the sunset along with the position of the visible moon, you can really visualize the spin & tilt of the earth.
