Canary Corner is a pretty garden cottage set in the beautiful village of Kommetjie, on the Southern Peninsular of Cape Town. It is fully self-contained and offers a double bed, equipped kitchenette, en-suite bathroom with shower and wall-mounted television. The cottage has a private entrance and a patio area facing the garden where guests can sit and enjoy the mountain view and watch the birds which frequent the feeders . All towels and linen are provided and WiFi and satellite television are offered free of charge. There is free, safe, onsite parking available. The beach is a five-minute walk away and the village is also within walking distance. Canary Corner is a short drive from Cape Point, Simon's Town, Fish Hoek, Muizenberg and Kalk Bay and you'll pass the picturesque villages of Scarborough and Misty Cliffs along the way. Kommetjie is also a short distance from Hout Bay, travelling via Noordhoek and along the scenic Chapman's Peak Pass. Our famous lighthouse, Slangkop (snake's head) is the tallest lighthouse in the southern hemisphere. There are coffee shops, restaurants and pubs in the village as well as a deli, pizzeria, superette and liquor store. There is also a laundry with same day service just up the road. Kommetjie's Long Beach is world renowned as a surfing venue and walking on the beach and up the mountain are favorite guest activities. Other activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, body surfing, swimming and (depending on the wind conditions) kite surfing. Low tide sees the arrival of mussel pickers but please bear in mind that a permit is required for this activity.
