Meet: Il Dolce far Niente, an Italian phrase meaning "the sweetness of doing nothing." Our brand-new lake front home is here to serve! Intended to provide time and space for the simple pleasures of life. Is it a picnic on the beach or stargazing around the fire pit with friends? Perhaps it is using our convection oven to bake bread or watching birds from the back porch. Could it be a day hike to the top of Pocono State Park or swimming right here at Deer Trail Lake? It's up to you, you are invited.
This newly renovated house for 8 (max) offers central AC, electric heat, a beautiful, large, indoor wood-burning fireplace, a full-size kitchen with new Samsung appliances, two large porches (one is covered) and an outside fire pit with 6 large Adirondack chairs to relax in. The back porch is furnished with beautiful wicker seating and outside table. For those with electric cars, this house comes with a Chargepoint electric vehicle charging station!
For sleeping arrangements, each floor has been designed for utmost comfort and privacy with a full bathroom and bedroom on each floor. All bedrooms are equipped with both blackout shades and rattan blinds and are furnished with new 10" gel mattresses by Cocoon.
The family friendly upper floor offers a sunny bedroom with full-size bed, twin bed, and crib. The nearby flex space serves as a play area or additional sleep space with a "Koala" sofa that easily converts to a queen-size bed. There is a child-proof gate at the top of the stairs and all outlets throughout the house have safety covers.
The main floor has its own hallway and full bathroom right off the kitchen. This bedroom has a queen-size bed, closet, storage space, nightstands with drawers and TV.
The lower floor bedroom has its own private hallway and bathroom with closet, desk area and queen-sized bed. This floor also has a family room equipped with game table (air hockey, pool, ping pong), washer/dryer, a top-of-the-line Love Sac sectional and wall-mounted TV. There are sliders this level leading out to the fire pit area, grill, firewood, and private path to the beach.
For those who do not want to bring their own linens and towels, we are pleased to offer a linen service from Pocono Linens with 10% off. Please let me know if you are interested in me arranging this service for you.
As Deer Trail Lake is located within the grounds of Lake Naomi, we can offer 6 weeks of special temporary membership to the prestigious Lake Naomi Club. These rentals must be week-long, Saturday to Saturday. These weeks are offered on a first-come basis. The Club offers a spectacular olympic sized pool set against beautiful Lake Naomi, a tennis center, golf course at Timber Trails, and even sailing and kayaking opportunities. For rainy days, the indoor pool and splash area, sauna, hot tub, steam room, indoor pickleball courts, are always open. Lastly, the club house restaurant has extremely good food! Please let me know if you are interested in adding this on to your weekly rental.
One of my favorite things to do around Far Niente, besides just sitting on the back porch and enjoying some peace and quiet, is going to the local farmers markets, eating at the awesome Pocono Organics café (across from there racetrack), or visiting the local art gallery, Red Run Gallery. Other fun things to do is to go to Jubilee restaurant, a local mainstay for decades.
