Positive: This place is beautiful. The grounds, the location and the view are all spectacular. The hosts, Mark and James are also extremely friendly and helpful with little tips and advice. Hats off to them for their service. They made it a really nice stay. The room we stayed in had such an amazing view of the ocean. It also had everything we might need to cook a full meal, though we didn't need to. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was excellent and the provided soaps and shampoo were also really nice. We have stayed in lots of places that do not provide any, so that was a welcome treat. We went for a stroll down to the ocean through the gate and around the river and the scenery is otherworldly, wild and so tropical. Finding the place with the signs and directions from Mark were also pretty easy, note that Google Maps doesn't get you the whole way there and you have to cross a little bridge and go about 100 metres down a dirt road (the road is fine) to get there. They send you a little picture that is helpful. If staying in Port St John's, this is an excellent place to stay.

Negative: Just a few things could be improved upon. The place could really benefit from some AC. There is a fan that works decently well, but it was cooking and we were pretty hot at night. Maybe even just some extra plug in fans in the rooms would really help. We had zero internet whatsoever. The wifi did not work at all so we blew through a lot of data on our phones planning the rest of our drive. This is probably an easy fix, but the owners may want to look into those issues to get it running properly. This last one is not on the property at all but feel it is important to let other people know who may be going this way. The town itself is a little bit sketchy. We had no serious issues, but did get stared at and my partner got yelled at for some reason and groped. At the grocery store, an intoxicated man also fell on our car then peed on it. Quite strange. Lastly, if you are continuing on along the Wild Coast, be very very aware about driving through Mthatha on the way to East London. Most people recommend avoiding it altogether, which is wise. We were followed through town and nearly robbed/hijacked and it sounds like this is very very common there. Be so careful. Again, this has no bearing on this property at all. The stay here was lovely, but we just want other people to be aware for their safety.
