Positive: Great location next to quiet public beach.

Negative: This is one of the most difficult reviews I have ever left. I am an avid supporter of local small business across the world. But this stay challenged me. With no fault of the owner, there is a a construction site directly next to the house, and it severely affected the room we stayed in. Head-splitting drilling starts at 7:30am on a Sunday morning, lasting until 5pm every day, and on the weekdays local neighbours wake you up at 5am. We simply could not stay there, and we ended up getting a second hotel room on the side at another hotel (in addition!) so that we could rest during the day and I could take work meetings. I truly wish that for ethical reasons the owner would have warned us about the construction site, but then again, the island is sadly invaded overall with heavy construction and expansion. A good advice is to check with each hotel room in advance whether it is affected with construction disturbance. Second, as an independent Nordic female I severely struggled with the type of hospitality and “local atmosphere” in general. Despite having the best intentions of respect, I personally found it challenging to have endure unwanted reprimands on your attire. For me it made me conclude that the “local island experience” was not suitable for me. Smaller comments: low level of English of staff, upstairs shower low water pressure Despite this I wish all the best for the homestay. The rooms facing the beach are likely not affected by the construction.
