Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Nice hotel in a renovated Ottoman house with large and clean rooms and a large sitting area shared with other guests. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the center. I think the hotel offered much value for its price. The owner and some staff members were very friendly and helpful but not every staff member was friendly. We were fascinated by the city and the surrounding area. Very friendly and interesting people everywhere in the city. There is much to see in the city: Kastamonu Castle, many nice mosques besides the Nasrullah Mosque, the Clock Tower with nice views over the city, many traditional Ottoman houses (some renovated, some not), restaurants serving traditional food and more. But don't miss the less-visited small villages outside of Kastamonu!

Negative: Breakfast could have been better. One or two staff members could have been friendlier and more welcoming. (But the owner was very friendly.)
