Positive: We Planned to leave the farm at Maclear at 07h30, but could only leave at 14h00 due to the heavy rains that caused floods in the vlei. Our host Phyll and her daughter Lizzie was just amazing. They drove numerous times to check the water levels. They had the low bridge repaired( not on their property), escorted us and then brought us back ; again escorted us through the water until we could safely drive through( our rental car is a Suzuki Swift). We were fed and hydrated and given regular updates. If you're ever in the area, please support Phyll. Her husband died at the age of 33 after a 3 year battle with cancer, leaving Phyll with 2 little daughters and a farm to run. She is still managing the cattle farm on her own, with the help of some farm workers. What an incredible amazing woman.
