The property is located in a prime position on the beach front of the development with stunning views. The development boasts roughly 45 exclusive homes and has 24 hour manned security.
The property is furnished to a high standard throughout in an African style. Comprising an entrance hallway with guest w/c on the first floor (entrance level), main lounge, second lounge, dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with large pantry all on the second floor. There are four spacious bedrooms and all are en-suite and have private balcony's. The master suite is located on the second floor and has a large, round jacuzzi bath located in the en-suite bathroom. The second, third and fourth bedrooms are located on the first floor. To the front elevation is a large driveway with ample parking for 2/3 cars and a large garage situated on the ground floor underneath the property. Vast, mature gardens and decked terraces surround the house and and offer a fantastic space to relax and dine outdoors. To the rear elevation overlooking the sea is a stunning and well maintained infinity pool.
Design: Built in an African style with a modern nuance the house radiates harmony with its surroundings. Travertine flooring throughout, marble, colorful drystone walling and thatched roofs with exposed beams create a warm yet rustic feel, while large aluminum windows and sliding doors emphasize the property's openness inviting sunlight into the large room layouts. This African feel is further exclaimed through superb interior decorating and soft furnishings, including paintings and carvings of the big 5. Lighting emphasizing the pine wooden beams and 'kaapse riet' used in making the thatched roof provides a well rounded effect of warmth and class. Rare Wenza wood is used throughout the house and for winter times a log burning stove provides for ultimate comfort and atmosphere.
To see: The house is built on a large dune on the beach front of the South Coast and offers panoramic views from every angle. It is fully equipped with decks and balconies to make sightseeing more accessible. Sights include whale watching in winter months, the Outeniqua Mountains, vast Wilderness lakes and the beach front. At night Mosselbay's city lights can be clearly seen. It is not only the sights, but also the smell and sound of the sea which makes the experience all the more special. Wilderness also has extremely clear skies and is accordingly perfect for stargazing. The villa is also built in the midst of Melkhout trees which is a protected tree species. Emphasis was placed on the preservation of these trees during the erection of the building because it forms the habitat of several bird and mammal species, including the well renowned Knysna Loerie and small 'dyke'.
Wilderness Garden Estate: Positioned in the far corner of 'Whale Close' the house forms part of the much sought after Wilderness Garden Estate. The Estate was built in an aim to provide luxurious housing in a safe environment for overseas as well as South African residents. Emphasis was placed on leaving the surroundings in a natural state to protect natural vegetation, surrounding dunes and wildlife. Because of the surrounding vegetation and hedges a wholly secluded and safe atmosphere is created.
Safety is always an important question. Wilderness Garden Estate is a privately owned estate with approximately 45 executive homes. The entrance to the estate is gated and manned by 24 hour security personnel. Also, as an additional precaution, the house is alarmed internally & externally and linked to a security company which monitors the alarm and provide armed response if need be.
IMPORTANT: All guests and visitors entering the Wilderness Garden Estate are required to provide either a valid identity card if you a South African citizen or a valid passport for all non South African citizens upon arrival. If you are unable to provide the above documentation you will be refused access to the estate by the estate management.
